At Detroit Enterprise Academy we want to ensure that a child’s first year of school is one that will challenge them and that they will enjoy. We provide kindergarten students with a strong learning foundation that will allow them to flourish as they progress in their academic career.
Detroit Enterprise Academy Kindergarten classrooms have smaller class sizes than grades 1-8. In addition, all kindergarten classroom teachers are provided their own teacher aide that allows more one-on-one instruction to support learning at such a critical age.
The kindergarten curriculum consists of core subjects such as math, reading, language arts and science. Kindergarten Teachers and Paraprofessionals are skillfully prepared on how to teach this kindergarten-aged in ways that they can understand, focus and enjoy. Kindergarteners also attend specials classes weekly, furthering a well-rounded educational experience. Each specials class implements lessons geared towards the Kindergarten learning level, where students learn how to use computers. They also have the opportunity to enjoy singing, drawing, painting and structured physical activity.
